History
We are a family company.
With an international pedigree.
Tick, tack!
Who knew that the opening of the first Europahotel in 1959 would be the start of an incredible success story? Since then, we have initiated, supported and realised unique hotel projects, leaving our mark at home and all around the world – from inventing the non-smoking room through to introducing the breakfast buffet to Germany.
Milestones:
Mainz, 1959
Berno-H. Feuring opens the first Europahotel, becoming Europe’s youngest hotelier at just 22 years of age.
Official state receptions
The hotel organises all of the official receptions for the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate. The guests include prime ministers, German presidents, French President Charles de Gaulle and the Queen of England, Elizabeth II.
Expansion
The Feuring consultancy is established and the industry’s longest success story begins.
Innovation
Berno-H. Feuring invents the non-smoking room, creating an entirely new category that will become the standard for modern hotels. This is soon followed by the show kitchen and the breakfast buffet.
Cyprus, 1963
The President of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios III, breaks ground on a Feuring hotel in Nicosia. Not long afterwards civil war-like conditions broke out, which later became known as ‘Bloody Christmas 1963’.
Morocco, 1963
Feuring enters the Moroccan market for the first time as a consultant to the World Bank. It participates in the redevelopment plan for Agadir following a major earthquake and realises or manages a total of 23 projects in the country, including in a joint venture with Crédit Immobilier Hotelier, a company of the Kingdom of Morocco. One of them is the storied La Mamounia in Marrakesh.
Working together
The partnership with the Dallas-based Continental Trailways begins, resulting in development projects in Marbella and Bruges.
Hotel ahoy
Contemporary hotel ships and ferries in Finland are also developed with the help of Feuring’s expertise.
Around the world
With its work at locations from the legendary Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, the Rice Hotel in Houston and the Excelsior Gallia in Milan to La Mamounia in Marrakesh, the Royal Mansour in Casablanca and the Hilton Marbella, Feuring finds itself in global demand as a consultant and trendsetter.
Mövenpick
The partnership with Mövenpick Hotels under Ueli Prager in Germany begins at an early stage. Joint projects include the Mövenpick hotels in Stuttgart (Airport), Frankfurt (Parkhotel) and Karlsruhe as well as the sale and leaseback portfolio transaction for the Mövenpick hotels in Munich, Nuremberg, The Hague and 's-Hertogenbosch.
From London to Germany
Three hotels in Germany are realised for the London-based Trusthouse Forte PLC: the Forte Hotel in Hamburg-Stillhorn, the Forte Hotel in Hildesheim and the Dom Hotel in Cologne.
Plaza Athenée, New York
The acquisition of the prestigious luxury hotel is supported as one of the first of many projects for Forte. Feuring develops or manages a total of 16 hotels for the hotel group, which is subsequently renamed Le Méridien.
Hotel Bristol, Warsaw
Support for the renovation and acquisition of the legendary hotel by Trusthouse Forte PLC, London.
Westin Hotels & Resorts
Our reputation as a global player precedes us as we are asked to support the German launch of Westin Hotels for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
Generation change, 2000
Bardo-M. Feuring and Matthias Lowin become members of the management board.
Le Méridien Hotels
We realise five-star hotels in Hamburg, Munich and Vienna, from development and operator procurement through to the subsequent exit. Le Méridien Barcelona is sold to an institutional investor in a sale and leaseback transaction.
Steigenberger
The cooperation results in the Steigenberger hotels in Dresden and Berlin (Am Kanzleramt), the Jaz in Stuttgart and the InterCityHotels in Berlin, Braunschweig, Darmstadt, Frankfurt (main railway station) and Mainz. Feuring also plays an important role in transactions involving the InterCityHotels in Enschede, Erfurt, Frankfurt (Airport), Freiburg, Hamburg-Altona, Magdeburg, Nuremberg, Rostock and Ulm.
Feuring currently looks after six hotels in Germany, the Netherlands and Austria under the Steigenberger Icons, Maxx and Intercity brands.
New joint venture
A joint venture with CA Immo Deutschland GmbH, formerly Vivico, is established in 2006. Projects including hotels are developed on sites owned by CA Immo until 2011. Feuring also realises and advises on projects in the Lehrter neighbourhood in Berlin, the Europaviertel district in Frankfurt, Cologne and Basel.
Hyatt International
The partnership with Hyatt International begins in 2008. The Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf in the Medienhafen district is developed and opens its doors in 2011. The highly successful hotel is sold in Germany’s most expensive individual transaction in 2016.
Jumeirah Hotels
Feuring Jumeirah is active in Frankfurt and Majorca as an experienced consultant.
Asset management:
Feuring has expanded its investment and asset management and project management activities since 2006. Examples include the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf, the Hilton hotels at the Squaire in Frankfurt, and the Hilton Garden Inn Davos, opposite the Davos Congress Centre that hosts the World Economic Forum.
Hyatt Place Hotels
Feuring manages the launch of the upper-upscale select-service brand in Germany in conjunction with Hyatt Hotels.
Hyatt Centric Hotels
As the partner to Hyatt Hotels, we also take charge of the launch of the first-class lifestyle brand in Italy.
Feuring Italia S.R.L.
An Italian consulting and project development company is established in Milan together with our partner, Francesco Paternostro.
Andaz market launch
We are currently developing the first hotel in Lisbon for Hyatt Hotels’ luxury lifestyle brand, which will open in 2025.
